Some Unexpected Factors that May Have an Impact on Your Fertility

While some women can get pregnant easily after very little effort, other women have a harder time. If you are one of the latter, consider seeking help from a fertility and wellness center, such as Reproductive Wellness in San Diego. The experts in facilities like this may help identify the reasons for your difficulty in conceiving, and offer viable solutions. You likely already know that age plays a key factor in your ability to have a child, but you may not be aware of other issues that can affect your fertility. Women over the age of 35 have a harder time getting pregnant because their bodies produce fewer eggs, and your chances drop every year after that. In addition to age, other factors could also have an impact on fertility.

Fertility Problems? Visit a Wellness Center for Acupuncture Treatments

A lot of San Diego couples, like many the world over, are often excited to start their own family. The trouble is that sometimes, the stork doesn’t arrive as expected. There could be a dozen reasons for a woman’s failure to conceive, most of which can be traced to an imbalance in a woman’s body. For example, low levels of key hormones can make it difficult for a child to develop in a woman’s womb.

Fortunately, there are many methods to help with these difficulties in conceiving a child, but unfortunately, several are chemical in nature and could have side-effects. There is one solution, though, that is natural and has little to no side-effects: acupuncture.

IVF: A Promising Step Towards a Healthy Family

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is often considered by couples as the last resort in successfully conceiving a child. Before opting for this treatment, many couples would have tried fertility enhancers such as prescriptions, surgery, or even so-called “fertility diets”.

Wellness Center in San Diego: A Healthy Lifestyle for IVF Support

The natural way of conception is achieved through the process of fertilization, wherein the egg and sperm meet to become an embryo, which then grows into a fetus, until the baby is born 9 months later. Unfortunately, not all couples are given this remarkable opportunity. Infertility may happen to either one or both couples for various reasons. For the males, this may be caused by blockage or decreased sperm count. Meanwhile, having blocked or damaged fallopian tubes, either due to prior surgery or suffering from pelvic inflammatory disease, is a common source for the inability to conceive a child among women. Some cases also involve endometriosis and other unexplained causes. With modern medicine, infertility may now be treated through assisted reproductive technology (ART), wherein medical techniques are used to help the woman conceive.

Eating Right for Fertilization

Couples having problems with conception may consider certain avenues to get there, with in-vitro fertilization (IVF) as a potential option. One issue with that, however, is consuming the right types of nutrients needed to prepare your body for the procedure. While there are no existing eating programs tailored for IVF, a La Jolla IVF practitioner may guide you on certain food items that may condition you.

How a Wellness Center Uses Acupuncture to Address Fertility Problems

Even with the solutions offered by modern medicine, many women are turning to the age-old tradition of acupuncture as a complement to their proactive search to deal with their infertility. Acupuncture helps regulate the energy flow in the body by stimulating the meridian points (or acupuncture points). These are strategic points in the body that, with the use of thin needle points, help stimulate the nerves, muscles, and connective tissues to restore the affected parts with increased blood flow, and equally important, to relieve discomfort.

Local Wellness Center in San Diego Can Help You Prepare for Pregnancy

Women today have more options when planning to get pregnant. However, some would learn the hard way that getting pregnant is not as easy as people would think it to be. While there are numerous options for contraceptives, and a huge barrage of reminders from many social institutions about unwanted pregnancy, there remains a lack of awareness about infertility which is just as important of an issue. According to the American Society For Reproductive Medicine, 6.7 million women have infertility problems. Some think that just because they stopped taking contraceptives, they will immediately be able to conceive a child, but this is not the case. Women who are planning on getting pregnant years later need to prepare for pregnancy ahead of time as well by consulting doctors and determining the status of their reproductive health.

How Acupuncture Improves IVF Success

Acupuncture is an age-old therapy known to effectively heal a variety of illnesses. Some research also suggests that acupuncture helps increase the odds of successful pregnancy through Intro-vitro fertilization (IVF) for women having difficulty conceiving via the natural method. Although some scientists believe that the power of acupuncture comes from placebo, others argue that it’s more than just that.

A study conducted in 2002 by a team of German researchers showed that acupuncture significantly increases the chances of pregnancy. Of the 160 women under IVF treatment, 42% of those who had acupuncture conceived. Only 25% of those who didn’t receive acupuncture got pregnant.
